Nice dark black cherry hue with aromas of spicy black berry, stewed tomatoes, and a touch of cedar.
Palate–Textured tannins, intense dark ripe fruit, nice spice, lingering tarry black berry finish
This Calistoga Zin is a new one to me and my wife bought it for Father’s Day paying $20. To be fair, I am reviewing this on the third day after opening so that needs to be noted. It was livelier and a well made in a different style than the fruit bombs I enjoy. It is a bit more austere yet without being tightly wound. It is drinking well but should be consumed in the next 2 years so raise a glass!
