Palate–Off dry fruity sweetness with a light citrusy under tone and a late bite of nice acidity to make it both a great aperitif as well as a food wine with creamy or buttery sauce dishes.
This 5 year old Chard is quite different than what I am used to and it is tantalizing and interesting. The finish just hangs on reminding you to take another quaff of this Aussie creation. I don’t remember what I paid for this but I think it was around $8 because I was very hesitant to buy it figuring it must be over the hill or something. It isn’t and in fact is ready for another year or two so raise a glass. We had it with raw Cape Neddick Oysters and I will pair it with out seafood angel pasta later on so raise a glass AGAIN!
