Nice deep black cherry hue with aromas of savory spiced dark berries, cedar, sweet blackberry
Palate–Big bold, intense dark fruit bombish, with a bit of pucker, rich spicy, blackberries, tar, and a lingering finish.
This was reduced to $7 (from $10) and I grabbed it because of the reliability over many decades of Fetzer’s productions. I cut my teeth on their wines back in the mid 70’s and their Gewurztraminer is one of may value favorites to this day. As a lover of all Zinfandel, this blend with Petite Sirah, petite Verdot (and Teroldego which is a new grape to me) is a crazy value at the regular price much less the reduced price. It’s a touch angular at the moment but pleasant and should mellow out a tad and hold for 3 years or more so buy a few, lay them down and enjoy. After all what do you have to lose? This is easy drinking at an economy/value level! Raise a glass.
