Swanson Vineyards Merlot (Napa) 2011 review by (PB)

Steady magenta hue Bouquet–Big fruity berries on the pour hitting your nose from several feet away. Light coffee on the front on opening, intense savory spices, a hint of dark baker’s chocolate, and a thread of sweet *huckleberry.    (*seriously–huckleberry? Chateau Hyot Reserve 2014 review by (PB)

Hue–Opaqueish brick red hue Bouquet–Floral aromas above the rim laced with fresh red berry fruit and Palate–Chunky immature tannins, austere fruit, bone dry, a bit of a lingering finish. Classic old world style Bordeaux. This Bordeaux (Castillon) is a blend of 60% Merlot, 20% of each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. I paid $16 though…
